FileHelper Passport Photo arranges repeated copies of a prepared portrait into a PNG sheet. It is a sizing and sheet-layout aid. It does not automatically approve a photo for a passport, visa or identity application: each receiving authority determines its own requirements.
Confirm the specification before editing
Read the application instructions for width, height, background, head position, expression and image age. A physical print measurement such as 35 × 45 mm is different from an online upload requirement stated in pixels or kilobytes. Use the rule supplied by the authority rather than assuming that a preset is accepted everywhere.
Prepare the portrait
Start with a clear, evenly lit photograph and suitable framing. This tool fits the complete source inside each photo cell, leaving white space when the proportions differ. It does not detect the face, set its required head size or remove its background. Check framing beforehand in an editor; a centred square crop is only suitable when the required composition is square.
Create the sheet
- Open Passport Photo and select the prepared portrait.
- Choose 35 × 45 mm, 51 × 51 mm or 25 × 35 mm as appropriate.
- Set Copies between 1 and 30. The default is six copies.
- Process and inspect the sheet. Copies are arranged in three columns with white spacing.
- Download the PNG and open it in software that lets you control physical print size.
Pixels and printed measurements
The tool calculates photo-cell pixels using 300 pixels per inch. For 35 × 45 mm, this is approximately 413 × 531 pixels per cell. That calculation does not force every printer to use the intended scale: a PNG can be resized by printing software. Disable fit-to-page when it changes the size and measure a test print before using the sheet.
What to check in the result
- The subject is not stretched and the head fits the requested framing.
- The background and lighting meet the application rules.
- Every printed photo has the required physical width and height.
- Textured paper, printer settings or cutting have not changed the usable dimensions.
For an online application instead
A multi-copy sheet is usually not the same as a single-photo upload. Use Image Resizer for a permitted pixel size, then compare the downloaded byte size with the portal limit. Resize & Compress can adjust both dimensions and export quality, but has no exact target-KB guarantee.
Limits of this workflow
The sample test confirmed that the sheet could be generated and decoded. It did not test an authority's acceptance. Preserve the original portrait and obtain a compliant new photograph when the source itself fails the application rules; changing size cannot fix an unsuitable pose or background.
