Image Resizer: workflow and output
Change an image’s pixel dimensions while selecting JPG, PNG or WEBP output. Use it for a required upload size rather than changing only a file’s name or print resolution.
How to use Image Resizer
- Enter Width or Height; leaving the other blank preserves the aspect ratio.
- Choose the output format and, for JPG or WEBP, the quality setting.
- Process, then check the preview and downloaded dimensions.
Example and result checks
Our 800 × 400 image became 400 × 200 when only Width 400 was entered. Entering both dimensions instead requests that exact rectangle and can stretch the source.
What this tool does not do
Enlargement cannot recover missing detail. The tool rejects dimensions above 16,384 pixels per side or 40 megapixels overall. PNG quality is not controlled by the lossy-quality slider.
Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow
For a square without distortion, crop first. Choose PNG for transparency; JPG output fills transparent space with white. If export fails, reduce dimensions rather than increasing quality repeatedly.
