WEBP Compress

WEBP Compress: workflow and output

Export a WEBP image with an optional width limit and lossy quality control. It is useful for web photographs where a compact modern image format is accepted.

How to use WEBP Compress

  1. Choose a WEBP file and confirm the receiving platform accepts WEBP.
  2. Set maximum width and quality appropriate to the intended display.
  3. Process and inspect the download at its actual display size.

Example and result checks

The width limit keeps proportions and only downsizes images wider than the limit. Quality affects the WEBP export rather than an exact target file size.

What this tool does not do

Some applications do not accept WEBP. Repeated lossy exports can gradually degrade detail, and a smaller byte size is not guaranteed for every source.

Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow

Keep the original and avoid using the previous compressed output as the next input. If compatibility is the problem, use WEBP to JPG or WEBP to PNG instead.
