Rotate Image: workflow and output
Turn an image by a quarter, half or three-quarter rotation. Use it to correct a sideways scan or an image with the wrong orientation.
How to use Rotate Image
- Choose the image.
- Select 90, 180 or 270 degrees from Angle.
- Process and check that text or faces are upright in the PNG preview.
Example and result checks
A 90-degree rotation swaps the width and height. A half turn retains the original dimensions but reverses the orientation.
What this tool does not do
Rotation does not straighten a slightly tilted horizon and does not mirror an image. The output is a PNG copy rather than an edit to the original file.
Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow
If the image faces the wrong direction, select the other quarter-turn option. Use Flip Image only when the change you need is a left-right reflection.
