JSON → CSV: workflow and output
Convert a JSON array of objects into a spreadsheet-friendly CSV table. Column names are collected across the records so fields introduced by later objects are included.
How to use JSON → CSV
- Choose a valid JSON file whose outer value is an array of objects.
- Run the conversion and inspect the CSV preview.
- Download and open it using your spreadsheet’s UTF-8 CSV import option.
Example and result checks
A sample with name, note and value fields exported all three columns. A note containing quotation marks was escaped with doubled quotes and round-tripped correctly in a CSV reader.
What this tool does not do
Missing or null values become empty cells. Nested objects are written as JSON text inside a cell rather than expanded into separate columns. Arrays of primitive values and a single outer object are rejected.
Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow
If JSON parsing fails, check for trailing commas or comments. Review identifier columns during spreadsheet import because a spreadsheet may automatically change leading zeros or dates.
