CSV to JSON

CSV → JSON: workflow and output

Read a comma-separated table into an array of JSON objects. The first CSV row supplies the property names; subsequent rows become records.

How to use CSV → JSON

  1. Choose a CSV file with one unique name for each column.
  2. Process it and examine the JSON preview.
  3. Download and check that each record contains the intended fields.

Example and result checks

Our sample preserved the quoted value “hello, world” and the escaped value “He said "Hi"”. Quoted line breaks are also handled. A numeric-looking CSV cell remains a string, preserving its text.

What this tool does not do

Semicolon-separated files are not treated as comma-separated tables. Column names must be unique and each data row must contain the same number of cells. Completely blank rows are omitted.

Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow

If the tool reports a column mismatch, check quoting around values containing commas. Export your spreadsheet explicitly as comma-separated CSV rather than changing its filename extension.

JSON → CSV offers a different operation; choose it only when that result matches your task.
