JPG → PNG: workflow and output
Convert a JPG image into a PNG copy when another application requires that format. The browser decodes the source pixels and exports a new file; the original is kept separately.
How to use JPG → PNG
- Choose the JPG image, checking that it opens correctly.
- Run the conversion and inspect the PNG preview.
- Download the result and verify dimensions and important details.
Example and result checks
The synthetic JPG sample produced a decodable PNG file. Ordinary raster conversions keep decoded dimensions; SVG dimensions depend on the source artwork and its declared size.
What this tool does not do
Changing JPG to PNG does not undo the original JPEG compression. It avoids further JPEG encoding in this export, but a larger PNG does not mean recovered detail.
Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow
Renaming a filename extension does not change its format. If decoding fails, export a fresh copy from the source application. A PNG conversion is for compatibility, not automatic enhancement or a guaranteed smaller file.
