Image → Excel: workflow and output
Recognise English text in an image and save it as an XLSX worksheet. It is helpful for a starting transcription of a clear photographed list or simple table.
How to use Image → Excel
- Choose a sharp, upright image with readable text.
- Run OCR and wait for recognition and workbook creation.
- Open the workbook and compare every important row, figure and heading with the image.
Example and result checks
Our image containing NAME AMOUNT, ALPHA 125 and BETA 250 exported recognised text into an XLSX workbook. Single-space text remained together in a cell; multiple spaces, tabs or commas may split cells.
What this tool does not do
This is not guaranteed table reconstruction. It uses English OCR and may misread decimals, currency symbols, faint lines and handwritten text. Spreadsheet columns need manual review.
Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow
Crop out unrelated text, rotate the image upright and improve source clarity before retrying. Never use recognised financial or identity data without checking it against the source.
