Base64 Encode

File → Base64: workflow and output

Represent a file’s original bytes as Base64 text. This is useful when a system expects a textual payload instead of a binary attachment.

How to use File → Base64

  1. Choose the file you intend to encode.
  2. Run the tool and inspect or download the Base64 text.
  3. Use only the text required by your receiving system.

Example and result checks

Encoding keeps the file bytes; it does not resize images or edit documents. A matching Base64 decoder can reconstruct those bytes.

What this tool does not do

Base64 is encoding, not encryption, and usually increases payload size by about one third. The downloaded text does not include a MIME-type data URL prefix.

Troubleshooting and choosing the right workflow

If your application expects a data URL beginning with data:, use Image → Data URL instead. Do not treat encoded private information as protected information.
